| The Apprenticeship Program welcomes the addition of the Heavy Equipment Mechanic Technician Program. Heavy Equipment Mechanic Technicians play a vital role in the timely completion of construction projects by ensuring that all equipment in the fleet is in safe, top working condition. This unique training opportunity combines instruction at our Training Site in the latest methods of equipment maintenance and repair with actual on-the-job experience. | NEW COURSE OFFERING: The Program is now offering the MSHA 24-Hour New Miner Training Class for members. This class is needed for those who will be performing work on quarry or mine sites. An 8-Hour Annual Refresher Class is also required. Check the "Continuing Education" section of this website for information on class availability. |

| NEW CERTIFICATION AVAILABLE: Overhead Crane Operator Certification Testing (CCO) ia now available for Local #66 members. Testing procedures are similar to the Mobile Crane Operator Certification Testing. Both a Written Test and a Practical Test must be passed. Reimbursement of testing fees is available to those members who successfully receive certification. |

NEW COURS OFFERINGS: Two classes in ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION have been added to our schedule, GREEN 101 and BIODIESEL FLEET CONVERSION. These classes focus on clean energy and environmentally sound construction practices. On-line and take home versions of these classes will soon be offered in addition to the traditional class presentations.

| The PA CRANE LICENSE LAW is scheduled to go into effect late 2010. This Law will require all operators of Mobile Cranes of 15 tons or greater and Tower Cranes of 10 meter tons or greater to obtain a license from the State. The CCO certification meets the requirements needed in order to obtain this license. Details will be available shortly on how to obtain the actual license. |
NEW CLASS FOR 2010: In response to pending OSHA requirements, SIGNALPERSON CERTIFICATION through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators is now available. This certification is recommended for anyone that may signal cranes. Successful completion of both a Written Test and Practical Test is required.
